first time in a LONG time

I am now planing a vacation, first one in a long time (10 years)that has nothing to do with work. I am 39 male, divorced, self employed, and financialy well off. I love to sail(and very good at it but a bit rusty), hate the cold, and I am looking for some where to go to "relax" but with things to do. I like people, but will be on this trip as a solo, so other solos would be nice. I know this is kind of vague, but that is why I am posting I need ideas.
thanks

G.T.Poss
[email protected]
What about a Club Med? They have lots of activities, will match you with a roomate if you want, lots of singles and activities aimed at singles...and they seat you at large tables for your meals so you get to meet other people very quickly. Call their 1-800 no. they'll let you know which Clubs you can sail at...
By the way...the food is incredible!

If this is too rich for your blood try a Jack Tar Village - they call it the poor man's Club Med. Jack Tar is similar but doesn't have as many activities...

Have you considered a windjammer cruise? My boyfriend and I went on one 1 1/2 years ago and it was wonderful. A lot of singles go on them, certain ships in the fleet are more conducive to singles than others, but even if there happens to not be a lot of singles on one - everyone really is friendly on these cruises. And they are very laid back - they truly are barefoot and the most you have to dress up is to wear a clean t-shirt to dinner. There were less than 90 passengers on our cruise so you really get to know the others on board. I highly recommend them. We plan on going back.

I am taking my first trip to the Caribbean - Virgin Gorda - dec 28 - jan 3. I'm looking forward to making new friends while I'm there; other vacationers as well as islanders. I am travelling with a bunch of friends but they are mostly couples. So maybe we should chat a little? email direct if interested.

G T Poss,
Hi, Where did you choose to vacation? Just curious, as I almost always travel alone and want to know what others do. If you want true relaxation, I have found going solo is the way to go. I have met so many people that way. I spent a weekend on the internet researching caribbean islands, and I chose Aruba. Rhodes, Greece was my first choice, but I can only go for one week. Greece will be a 2-3 week trip!!! Anyway, let me know what you are doing. Jenny
