Cancel while you still can. Sandals promised us a really great honeymoon and we are still trying to get compensation for the @$%^& we went through. Not the room we were promised, in fact no room the night we arrived at the airport. Service and food was poor. If you want a big drunken frat party you may enjoy your stay. Nothing promised was delivered. No remorse over not delivering what was promised. Still have all our money.....

WE stayed at Sandals Halcyon and some of Marks comments ring true. We visited this larger Sandals two separate times and it is a much 'busier' resort with much more of a 'partying' atmosphere. Saying this though, I don't know what he means about the food - the food was fantastic. Perhaps all his bad experiences altered his taste buds... but the food was very good & I never heard anyone complain at either st. lucia sandals resort while we visited. On the contrary, everyone was always talking about how wonderful the food was. We thought this larger Sandals St. Lucia golf resort was a nice place to visit for a meal...but we were very glad we chose the more laid back Sandals Halcyon for our honeymoon.
If you want more info on our trip, I have a trip report I could email you. Just email me your request.

leslie.

I sure hope that Sandals St Lucia is not the "frat party" that some claim it to be. Of course it's the larger resort, and there may be a lot of people there, but we plan to have a good time regardless. We went to Sandals Montego Bay for our honeymoon in late 97, and it was a DUMP. The reason we are going to St Lucia is that I complained for 3 months and finally got a credit for the 5 days we originally did not use (yes, we left Montego after only 2 days of a 7 day vacation and flew home..it was that bad). So we are using our 5 day credit at St Lucia...only because we heard it was "their top of the line" resort.
Perhaps Halcyon is quieter, but there are many better destinations for quiet than "all-inclusives". AS long as our rooms are quiet from outside noise and there are no frat brothers running kegs up and down our hallway, we should be fine. Questions....Do the rooms have interior access like a hotel, or exterior access like a motel?
Would one describe the atmosphere as "cheesy" or "fake" or was it relaxing?
Please pass along to all NEVER GO TO SANDALS MONTEGO. They advertise it as being "10 minutes from Sangster Intl Airport" ....yeah..10 minutes around the end of the runway to the other end of the runway. There were massive jets throttling up behind our room..shaking the building. Food was horrible, they ran out of beer one night, ants infested my wife's room, and the pool had tile falling off the sides into the bottom.
WHAT AN ARMPIT OF A RESORT.
We are hoping to enjoy St Lucia. After going to Montego, anything will seem better.
Advice???????

I agree with Mark about the frat boy atmosphere except that it was even more pathetic than that at Sandals Negril. It had the feel of a frat party 10-15 years later. I felt I'd witnessed middle-aged adolescence ,and it wasn't pretty!
We complained and were offered some "free" nights but decided our time was too valuable to waste going to another Sandals.
