Feedback on LaCabana

Any comments on La Cabana? Have a chance to buy a week at the timeshare in April. I have a five year old daughter and I heard it is great for children.

Hi: We stayed there for a week. There is a good childrens program and waterslide ect. We like the property but with any timeshare make sure you have something that others will switch with you. My sister has one in St. Martin and has to just about give her weeks away. Aruba is a great island safe and friendly. karen

We are Hyatt Vacation Club (timeshare) owners and last March we traded into La Cabana. Yes it is great for children, make sure they are part of Interval International or RCI so that you can trade to other places (we own at Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar in Puerto Rico) I do not think you will have difficulty trading if you own in Aruba - always in demand. Just watch what you pay because we found the timeshare prices in Aruba high compared to what we paid at Hyatt Vacation Club and we have great trading opportunities.

Thanks for the info. What are the rooms like - one bedroom unit? Is it comparable to the Bucuti Beach Resort - that is the place I stayed during my last trip to Aruba.

Bucuti and La Cabana are VERY different. La Cabana is HUGE and NOT directly on the beach as Bucuti is. Also, make sure you don't get one of the units that is a LONG way from the beach (have to cross road to get to the beach as La Cabana not on beach but across the street).
