Elysian Beach Resort? St.Thomas,U.S.V.I.

My husband and I are planning a trip to St. Thomas in March.Has anyone stayed at the Elysian Beach Resort? We are looking for a condo or villa accomodation, as we like to eat breakfast and lunch there and then go out for dinner.I would appreciate any info.,or other suggestions about similar accomodation.

We stayed at the Elysian about 4 years ago and the accomodations were very nice. Clean, well manicured, prompt, etc. I would recommend it. At the time (and I believe still) the owners also own the hotel at Bolongo Bay and you can swim/use facilities there too. There they have the classic hammocks between palm trees...go there for a Carribean nap! Enjoy!

I stayed at the Elysian for three long nites in Dec 97. I would not recommend it. The resort is very large with multiple high rise buildings. Our building was the one closest to the road with no view. Everywhere we needed to go was a long hot hike. The rooms are acceptable with a refrigerator and microwave included. The staff was less than friendly and the hotel food was mediocre. The pool is large and well kept and there is a nice whirlpool. The beach is small and not nearly as nice as many in the area. Getting anywhere in St. Thomas or from this location is very aggravating. Too many cruise ships mean too much traffic. A simple trip into town can take forever.
After our 3 days, we moved to St. John and the rest of our vacation was perfect!!

Good luck!!

We stayed at Secret Harbor Resort on St. Thomas about 5 years ago and enjoyed it very much. They have their own private beach you can snorkel off of, a restaurant, and activities. Have fun!
