Denise, I have heard Venta is nice, owned by an Italian company, so most of the guests are from Europe.

Don't know if Venta is open after the Hurricane, so check to see if they are taking guests.

IF you want small and amazing beaches, you will love Eleuthera. There are a few places on Eleuthera that also might fit your bill, The Cove, Rainbow Inn, Unique Village.

Also Harbour Island, which is off the N. Coast of Eleuthera has several nice places to stay, some nightlife and on Harbour Island, you can walk everywhere, so there is no need for a car and there are several nice places to stay. (Our favorite is Runaway Hill)

If you go to the www.where2stay.com board you can "kalik" on islands scroll down to the Bahamas and look up the different islands. There are also pictures of most of the resorts and rates for the winter and summer seasons.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you need any more info.

tweedy
Hi Denise,
Stayed there 3 winters ago. The food is AMAZING, limited beverage selection. All entertainment is done in Italian. dive shop on site, beautiful beaches, the resort is located on the Atlantic side so it tends to be a bit rough. If you go, bring soap, and face cloths, the resort did not provide either.
Diane

If you check with your local travel agent they can probably help with your travel to Eleuthera.

IF you want to call directly, go to the www.where2stay.com board and "kalik" on islands, scroll down to the Bahamas and you will find most of the phone numbers and rates and even pictures of most of the resorts on Eleuehra and Harbour Island.

If you need any specifics, please let me know, I have been visiting for 15 years so know the place fairly well.
