Dress code at Aruba restaurants?

Do I need a jacket at any of the better restaurants in Aruba? I like to travel light and would prefer to leave it at home.

My husband never even wore long pants! Some restaurants (only a couple) require long pants, the rest are dress shorts.
Go to aruba-bb.com This is a website devoted soley to Aruba. Many of the folks there can answer all of your aruba questions. They helped me out a lot when planning my trip. Have a good time. We really enjoyed aruba.

no way , Aruba is very laid back & casual ,all the resorts on palm beach including the 5 star resorts have a causal island atmosphere & even in the upscale restaurants such as pago pago & sunset grill almost everyone wears a nice pair of shorts & either a golf shirt or a tommy bahama style button down shirt.
leave the jacket at home.

Hi,

How about Le Dome? Shorts and collar shirt, or long pants?
Thanks
Carol

Le Dome has a website and it says semi formal attire for inside ( I assume that means pants.) and casual dining on the patio.

le dome is very upscale ,that said nice dress shorts & a nice collared short are still acceptable and considered appropriate attire. you will find that most people will be wearing shorts in aruba even at night.

I would have felt out of place inside at Le Dome in dress shorts. Most women were wearing nice sundresses, skirts with pulled together tops or fashionable dressy pants outfits. Men were in long pants with various button down shirts, a few sportcoats, fewer ties and a few finished-looking polos.
Dress shorts were seen on the patio which is also a nice option, but we enjoyed the ambiance and found the Sunday Champagne Brunch worth dressing up a bit for. It was truly occasion dining in terms of ambiance, food and gracious service. That being said, it's not stuffy, it's comfortable yet "special." We took our two older teenage girls on a return visit and it was one of their favorite places.
