Do the bashers and flamers of this board realize what fools they are perceived as? This has been proven countless times. This is especially true when people return from a bashed island and report that the negative posts are untrue or highly exaggerated. You will continue to bash and flame, I'm sure. However, what point will it serve when so many people now disregard any negative posting. I guess it is like the boy who cried wolf.

If you don't like negative opinions, then don't read them, or ignore them (at your peril??). <BR><BR>Guess what? People have opinions, especially those who are well-travelled and have comparisons to make. If someone has nothing critical to say about a destination, even a favorite destination, I assume that person is a moronic pollyanna or has never ventured anywhere else (or, most likely, both). <BR><BR>You assert that bashers and flamers on this board have been proven to be fools countless times? By whom? Can you share an example? Are you a member of some secret committee that judges those who post? <BR><BR>And just what exactly is your agenda, anyway? Has your favorite little spot been bashed on this board? Boo-hoo. <BR><BR>Please do keep your head in the sand and "disregard any negative posting." You'll probably feel better about yourself, which is why we're all here after all.

I don't think that anyone is referring to negative posts or reports but the mindless and disguisting flames that the troll or trolls post. Many don't come to this site anymore, some read it and won't post and the hiding of emails is almost mandatory because if you happen to challenge one of nasty ones, you are in for it. The vulgar, obscene and attacking posts are unnecessary and this site serves as a playground for the infantile and malicious but you have to just look the other way to gather tidbits both good and bad from some of those who do have signifigant knowledge.

This site has gone way down hill. If<BR>someone writes a report about an island<BR>they love. The bashers on here are<BR>about the lowest class I have ever seen.<BR>Must be a lot of jealous people.<BR><BR>In the past few weeks, we have observed<BR>many posts from people that either just<BR>returned for a wedding or have returned<BR>from their 30th+ trip to the same island, same resort....etc etc. And, <BR>these nice folks have received horrible<BR>notes. It's so obvious that these<BR>"bashers" have a problem.<BR><BR>I hope you folks just ignore them and<BR>don't comment when they "bash". They<BR>feed on that. It's what they are<BR>hoping you will do to keep it going. Psychology 101...<BR><BR>The shrinks I work for have a field<BR>day diagnosing you bashers.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with the previous posters. I've had to change my screen name several times to avoid getting bashed, which is a shame because I had spent countless hours building up a legacy of 100s of posts under my previous name. It has gotten so bad that when I reported my son's rape on a secluded St. Thomas beach, the USVI business owners came out of the woodwork to bash me for posting since it hurts their business there. But I still lurk here because the archives are truly amazing on this site.
