Diving in Grand Caymans?

The diving is the best I've seen in the Carib.
You can shore dive lots of places off of Grand
Cayman.
I prefer Little Cayman where you could dive for
weeks or more off Bloody Bay wall.
Then there is Cayman Brac where you can dive
a sunken Russian destroyer that was sunk
last year.
There many dive operaters on the islands
and live aboard boats also.

I dove in Grand Cayman about a year and a half ago. We stayed at Sunset House and dove with the in-house Sunset Divers. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful about locations. There are numerous excellent dive locations all around the island of Grand Cayman -- even Stingray City is worth a one-time visit (you can play with and feed stingrays -- the dive is very shallow with some visting by snorkel). I've also heard very good things about Fisheye in Cayman. I met the owner, Martin Sutton, on a dive trip to the Red Sea, which he arranged for a group from New York City. You really can't go wrong diving in Grand Cayman -- just go with one of these very reputable operators.

A great shore dive is the Mini-Wall just off the Turtle Farm. There is a dive shop located there and a platform and ladder to enter the water. If you have your own gear and all you need to do is rent a tank or two, it is the best dive deal in town! Night diving there is terrific too. IMO, the northern section of the Turtle Farm wall is better than the southern section. IMO the best boat dives are off the North Wall. Red Sail Sports has larger, more comfortable boats that include a head. Fisheye Divers offers smaller groups and underwater photo and video services. Diving with any dive boat operator is EXPENSIVE - especially if you have to rent gear. Bring lots of money and have fun!!

BETH, In my opinion there is no better dive than the north wall at Grand Cayman. A dramatic wall which seems to drop away into nothing. Here you can not see the ocean floor, it gives the sence of flying. At 100 ft. move a little way out from the wall and just stop moving and look down. Assuming you have good bouy. control you will feel as if you are floating in space. AWESOME, trust me.

Did you stay on Little Cayman or go on the island at all? We are scheduled to stay 2 nites, 2 1/2 days at the Little Cayman Beach Resort to do some diving in Feb. Then on to Westin on Grand Cayman for 5 nites.
