Culebra Excursions from Vieques?
Does anyone offer excursions to Culebra from Vieques? Would prefer a power catamaran or power boat but would consider the ferry service - does anyone know how long the ferry ride is?

Hi Julie,
I'm looking for the reverse, passage from Culebra to Vieques, around February 8-10 time. I don't think there is such a thing and we'll have to go via Fajardo, which is a pain. When will you be there, as if we join forces maybe we can get a charter - there are 2 of us

The last time I was in Vieques was in 2002 and we also wanted to go to Culebra from Vieques. There wasn't any excursions but after asking alot of people we finally found a local with a boat who agreed to take us for the day.We got off to a late start but Tony fianlly arrived and what an amazing day we had. He took us snorkeling, to the town and to Flaminco beach. I wish I had more information for you. Good luck and enjoy Vieques.

Hi lilipad - unfortunately our trip isn't until March. We are spending 5 nights in Ocean Park (near San Juan) and then 5 nights in Vieques. I really want to see Culebra - we may have to "play it by ear" once we are there to see if we can find a "ride" to Culebra! If we don't get to Culebra this time - I will put it on my "to do list" - where are you guys staying on Culebra? Make sure you post a report when you get back

Not sure about ferry service from Vieques to Culebra, you might want to look into a plane service. We visited Culebra last year, the ferry from Puerto Rico is only $2, we caught a small plane back for $40, it took about 45 minutes.
It's definetly worth a visit, flamenco beach is well worth staying a night at. If you get a chance, hike over the mountain from Flamenco to Carlos Rosario Beach, it's dreamy.
