If you are talking about the Crane in Barbados, we stopped there last year. It is the hotel, or it WAS last spring, that Royal Caribbean takes it's tours to for their glass of rum punch and glimpse of the beach.

The beach was gorgeous, big waves, wide and looked great but you have to go down a bunch of steps to get to it. This may be a problem for some. The grounds of the hotel looked nice from what we could see. Their punch wasn't bad either!
We were in Barbados in May. Spent several wonderful hours at the Crane on 2 separate days.

The breezes were fabulous, esp up at the restaurant. As Cheri says, non guests are not allowed into the hotel proper, just the beach & restaurant. The pool area was pretty & the hotel looked average on the outside.

Be prepared for construction noise. They are building a timeshare adjacent to the hotel & marketing them as Crane units. Personally, I think it's existence will detract from the charm, but that observation may not be fair. Just a feeling I have.

The stairs to the beach are wicked, but worth it. Be sure & carry what you'll need down as it won't be convenient to pop back to your room for sunblock, colas, etc. Water is rough, but breathtaking. The view from the restaurant is easily one of the prettiest on the island, if not THE prettiest.

Tell Henderson (the cat in the hat beneath the stairs) "hello" from Texas!
