Cheap St. John lodging

My friend and I will be in St. John late Oct/early Nov and we need cheap lodging in St. John...we want either a hotel that's $100 or less per night OR a condo/villa/apt to rent for approx. $500 or less? Anything out there...

Try Gallows Pt. Condos(great location), they might have some off season deals for not much more than $100, and the Westin sometimes does a $99 special. As for villas try cateredto.com Good Luck

You may have trouble finding a hotel or apartment with your budget (unless there are some last minute deals). If you are having trouble, consider camping: the National Park Service has campsites at Cinnamon Bay, and there are two eco-resorts with camping-like facilities (although not as rough as the National Park sites), maho bay camps and Harmony eco-tents. Good luck

Try the Serendip Condos. Think it was $115 a night for the one BR, there are efficiencies for less. Maybe they have a weekly rate. Good luck and have a great time!! Lee in Austin,Tejas

Keep hunting. Altho I don't have specific "deals," they are out there! The Hotel and Resort Assoc is working on some pretty good 3 and 5-day trips that include air (hopefully they will come up with some longer stays too). In the meantime, many places are offering about 30% to 50% off their normal rates. They aren't posted so you might have to call the rental agents or the hotels directly. You can do the Ritz on STT for $125 a nite, I hear, now. Also the USVI is supposed to be included in the tax credit now pending in Congress for for travel anywhere further than 100 miles from your home if you are a US citizen and travel in the US!

Lucretia: You might try caribbeanvilla.com They specialize in St. John condos and have some very reasonably priced the last time I checked. We used them several years ago. Good luck
