Cayman-Can I bring my own wine

I've been to Cayman a few times, but was curious if anyone knows if there's a limit to how many bottles one can bring on the island. I want to take a case of our favorite wines to drink while there.

I tried the Cayman Tourist Board website, but found no info. on this, although I did find out my family will be paying $125 in departure taxes. What a nice way to say thanks for visiting our island!

Children under 12 IIRC are not subject ot the departure tax.

Your airline, which usually collects the departure tax, may not know this, so you might have to insist.

American Airlines sometimes tries to charge until I convince them otherwise.

Northside Sue, thanks for the info.
Traveler, thanks for the tip on the dep. tax.
Now I just have to decide whether to make my teenagers appear over 21 (can take in more wine), or make them appear under 12 (save on the departure tax!)

Not really a choice, even in jest. All the numbers will be checked at one place or the other. You can buy wine at the liquor stores. More expensive than at home, but cheaper than in the restaurants and bars.

Just returned from GC. We wanted to take a bottle of wine to a restaurant and they said they would charge $25 corkage fee!
