Leaving soon for Cancun & have never visited. Staying at the Royal Solaris and its all-inclusive. Will let everyone know how it went. In the meantime, any opinions? Suggestions?

I vote for the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach. We moved from the Sun Palace after two nights. For the ultimate in luxury try the Presidential Suite.

Tired of Cancun Try Akumal 60 miles South

Subject:
Are you looking for a Quiet Beach?

Body:

Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico is 60 miles south of Cancun.
Rent a car, take a taxi, or take a bus from Cancun. Akumal
is located in an area that was the first dive resort in the
what is now call Cancun Tulum Corridor. The area has several
dive shops and centers. Akumal dive center on the beach at Akumal, Akumal Dive
Shop (the original shop), down the coast
just a short is Tankah dive shop, and there are some in Tulum.

If Snorkeling and hanging at the beach are your thing then North Akumal (Half
Moon Bay) or Akumal or Tulum or Tankah maybe what your looking for.

If Touring and Hiking the Mayan Ruins are of interest they are available just a few
miles away. Tulum, Muyil, Coba, and Punta Laguna (Place of the Spider Monkeys)
are just for starters.

Mayan food is very good and interesting. There are excellent Restaurants in the area.
La Buena Vida is a favorite for the evening meal for us. Benito the manager will
accomodate just about any style of meal you can imagine. He's an interesting man to
visit with. Turtle Bay Bakery and Cafe is a great place for breakfast. There Muffins
melt in your mouth.

Lynn and I have gone there for R&R for the last four years.
We have a web page devoted to Akumal and area.

http://members.theglobe.com/kc5tet/akumal_1.htm

This page has trip reports put to many photo and interesting links that will help you
know the area and enjoy it. Maybe even help you to decide to go.
See ya.
bill and lynn
[email protected]
May All Your Travels Take You Some Place
