Callaloo - Want Your Cat Island Trip Report

I read on another post that you were going to Cat Island and would love to hear about your trip. I am in the early stages of planning a Caribbean/Bahama vacation and Cat Island is at the top of the list.

Thanks!

You can find a report of my most recent trip here: http://www.traveltalkonline.com/foru...e=3#Post595633. Prior trips (I'd gone twice before) are here: www.homestead.com/islandtime/MainPage1.html. Have fun planning!

I thought that might have been yours! I was over on TTOL the other day researching villas when I read a trip report on Fernandez Bay. I think I would really love that place based on your reviews of it.

ejcrowe, if you love Grenada, you will love Cat Island as well. VERY different islands physically, but the "heart" of the islands is very similar. Except Cat Island is much less developed. It's all about managing expectations.

Boy, oh boy, do I love Grenada! I really think that my husband and I would enjoy a trip to Cat Island (well, many places in the Out Islands, reall). One of these days we're going to plan a getaway just for the two of us to do very little except read, swim, and explore the beach--most of our most recent vacations have been very much On the Go types. In his heart of hearts he'd rather just sit down on a deserted beach and study the horizon and the color shifts on the water, and I confess I have no objection to that every now & again!

Thanks Callaloo. I read your most recent report and it still sounds like heaven to me. But I'm leary of how quickly things can change so we'll get there this year -- granted Fernandez Bay has space.

Going to your website I discovered I had been there before to read about your Abacos trips. We fell in love with Abacos last year and really debated on going back to see some of the islands we missed or going someplace new. If it were up to DH it would be Abacos. We're not sailors but enjoy taking out the whaler.

Thanks for posting your trips. They are so well written and enjoyable to read.

Sheila

Thanks Callaloo, enjoyed your trip report. Cat island appears even more isolated than Eleuthera.
