I have a question for any Bucuti experts out there: We have a room booked in the Tara suites for October of this year. We (myself and my husband to be) are both so excited about the hotel and the beach. However, I read some reviews (and granted the reviews were somewhat old) which stated that even if you reserve a specific room, it is still possible to be bumped.
Is this possible? Should we call the hotel and specifically request not to be bumped as was suggested? I hope this has not been posted somewhere else, I could not find the topic.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "bumped". I've stayed at the Bucuti (in the tara suites) several times and they have never (in my experience) been able to confirm a specific room or a specific floor (unless you reserve a penthouse) when I made my reservation. I have often requested a first floor or third floor and have always been told they would take it into consideration... but other than the first floor (easiest access to beach) and top floor (the penthouses) they're all pretty much the same... now, if you meant "bumped" to the main wing from the Tara Suites, I could understand your concern (even though they've been refurbished now); however, I've never heard that is even a possibility. By bumped I do mean something other than a Tara suite. Thanks for the comment!

My husband and I visited Aruba for our Honeymoon and stayed at Bucuti in 2005! It was the best experience we have ever had! It was romantic, relaxing, and beautiful. Now we did not have any problems with our arrival at the Tara suites, they were so accommodating. we felt like royalty. Now, a couple that came a few days after us did get "bumped" from the suites. Apparently they overbooked (I think this was because they were still building the other wing). It wasn't a problem though because they were put in another suite for only the first night and got everything taken care of.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it! Have the best time ever!!

I must have read those same reviews before we went to Bucuti. I emailed the hotel and expressed my concerns. They emailed that I had nothing to worry about, but it made me feel better. Also, if they do have to bump someone, I like to think the odds are better it won't be you if your concerns are already on record.
