Bottom line $ travel
If you had $1000 or less, a solo traveller where would you go? Need a change of scenery & a break from workm but I've had extra expenses. I could go somewhere to explore or just enjoy the water or lounging.

If your $1,000 budget must include the airfare, then you won't get very far. You might be able to do a really cheap hotel in San Juan for 4 nights.
Depending on where you live, I'd suggest looking at places you can get to for a very cheap flight (on Spirit or Jet Blue). An all-inclusive hotel is out of the question because of the solo supplement.
You could take one of the short (3- to 4-night Bahamas) cruises for that kind of money if you are really close to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

I would use Priceline and book a package. There are great deals to be had there if you are flxible as to what time of day u fly. If not, use them for hotels. As a solo travellers, I have stayed in some very nice hotels for a fraction of retail when using PL.
