Booking Anse Chastanet
After reading all info on this forum about Ladera and Anse Chastanet my husband and I had a hard time to decide. So we are going to both! We already booked Ladera directly and my question is: did you book your accommodation at AC directly or using their agent in the US? What is the best way?
We are looking for the third place in St Lucia that would be a little different from Ladera and AC. Any suggestions? We Like small, quiet places where people any age feel comfortable. We are planning to do some hiking and visiting nature reserves. Anyone had a chance to visit Maria Islands Reserve?

PS A question for Lisa: Are you the same Lisa who posted a wonderful November trip report on Costa Rica? If yes, where are you going this November?

Hi Helena. Yes, I am the same Lisa who went to St. Lucia in November '98 and Costa Rica in November '99 and loved both. I'm so glad you're going to Ladera and Anse Chastanet & can't wait to hear what you think of them.

I'm still working on this November's trip, but I'll let you know! I'm currently planning a trip to Maui and Kauai with my mother for October. My boyfriend and I are probably taking another trip in November but haven't quite decided where yet, although we're leaning towards Mexico -- probably dividing our time between Isla Mujeres & Playa del Carmen areas -- I've found a couple of small accommodations there that look charming -- although we're attracted to Puerto Vallarta & vicinity as well, and I've found some wonderful-looking little places to stay there as well. The problem is, there are too many wonderful places to go, and not enough vacation time! Hoping someday to do South Pacific, Australia, Southeast Asia, Africa...

We stayed at A/C in July 1998 and loved it. The only negative thing were the bugs. (Open concept) I guess summer is the wrong time to go. <g>

You can check out their website at http://www.ansechastanet.com/

You'll love it there!

Thank you for confirming that Anse Chastanet is a great place to be when in St. Lucia. But we won't be there until November.
Lisa: My husband and I are going to Africa in June and I will try to post report if you are interested in Seychelles, Kenya, or Tanzania

Lisa,

If you go to Australia let me know. I went there a couple of years ago and would love to talk about it. You seem to have the same travel bug that I so and I will tell you this. Of all the places that I have been Australia ranks by far the top of my list!!!!

Juli

Helena: Yes, please post a trip report when you get back from Africa! I remember there was one a few months back from someone who went on safari and then went to the Seychelles. I would love to hear your impression. I know I will go to Africa someday.
Juli: And I will definitely go to Australia someday too. Where did you go when you were there? From what I have read I think we'd love the area around Pt. Douglas -- want to see the rainforest and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. And would like to see Sydney as well.

This message has not much to do with Caribbean Islands. Sorry. Lisa I will post my report on Kenya and Seychelles in the begining of July (we are coming back June 27) and on St. Lucia in the end of November. If you need any more details, for the next two weeks I will be reachable at the above address.
