booked my first trip!

I finally booked my first trip to Jamaica. We are leaving 11/26 for couples negril! Any advise regarding couples negril would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone taken the ys falls tour and black river tour? My husband is hugh fan of the crocodile hunter and I would love for him to see crocodiles on the black river. Thanks

Good for you not to listen to all the naysayers on Jamaica. I love Jamaica. Just relax and enjoy it. Have a dirty banana for me!

We've been to YS Falls - we didn't go on a tour, we went with a private driver (which is what I recommend unless socializing with other tourists will be fun - it may). It's beautiful.

You arrive at a reception building with a bar and shop then get on a trailer pulled behind a tractor for a 15 minute ride through the farm/ranch to the falls. As the falls are on private property, YS is virtually hassle-free - no one will try to sell you anything.

There's a bath house, a lot of open grassy areas to picnic or whatever. There are several pools to swim in and you can climb up but it's not marked (like Dunn's). One pool has a rope you can swing out on and a cave behind the falls to explore. It was not at all crowded when we were there. I think the cost is $9 per person, not including getting yourself there.

I haven't done Black River but I understand you almost always see crocs but they are smaller than what you might expect, and not very aggressive - I've seen photos of people petting them.

Photo:
http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...nce=2&res=high
<BR Liz
