Blended family-travel with FOUR teenagers
My boyfriend and I are travelling as a blended family, two teen girls, two teen boys and want to find a all inclusive caribbean island that offers enough to do 1) at the property and 2) excursions such as zip line, jungle trip etc. last year i went with just two teens to cancun and had a nice time - stayed at Riu - Palace Las americas - but also went to chichen itza and jungle zip line tour - great trip. looking for something similar - perhaps in jamaica or costa rica? any advice surely welcome want to try something new....

Your blended family will have a great time in Costa Rica. However, in CR, AI option is very limited. You should rent a car (or use other transport), drive around and explore the country. If you would like to stay in the AI resort for the entire stay, CR is probably not a good choice.
I've never been to Jamaica but you can also enjoy zipline, jungle trip and AI in Dominican Republic.

Costa Rica is great for people of all ages and there is so much to do. I agree with the poster above in that you aren't likely to find a great AI. There is so much to do though, and I think that your blended family would have an amazing time taking advantage of all the outdoor activities that Costa Rica has to offer. We took a day trip over to Nicaragua as a way to mix things up and had a great time.

We went to CR for 11 days with our 2 kids (15 & 18) How many times in your life can you see an active volcano, howler monkeys, ziplining, hiking, horseback riding, beaching ,hot springs, birding, etc on 1 trip. It was fantastic unlike any place we've been before. Definitely an adventure!
