Biras or Peter Island?
We are planning a trip for our anniversary and we're trying to decide between these two resorts.
Here's our situtation:
1) We are only planning a 3 night trip given the expense, etc.
2)If all continues well I will be 5-6 months pregnant with our first when we go on the trip. So snorkeling is important - SCUBA not.
3) Since it's a short trip ease of getting there is important. Is either resort easier to get to?
4) Money's not the most importanta thing, but---Can get a comparable rate for Ocean view Suite on Biras and Ocean view room on PIR. Beach Jr Suite on PIR is $180/nite more. (is that worth it?)
Biras sounds more remote, better food etc which is appealing. (Better snorkeling?) And I like the idea of the motorized launches.
Are we crazy for even going on this trip? Does being pg impact the enjoyment of either place (one over the other)
Thanks for your thoughts!

If you have only 3 nights I would suggest that you go to Peter Island. You will save a lot of travel time as compared with Bras Creek. I would not consider a Beach Suite on PIR worth the extra. The beach there is not a snorkeling area and you need to take trasportation to get to the best snorkling.

Hi. I'm in a similar situation--choosing our "last hurrah" vacation before our 1st baby is born. We also were considering your two choices, along with Cap Juluca. We eliminated Biras because their beach is about 3/4 of a mile away, usually accessed by bike. I couldn't picture my 5-months pregnant self negotiating the trail on a bike. So if those are your two choices, PIR may win out for that reason alone.

HUmmmmm ... one thread and three of my all-time fav's come up! Three nites seems to be cutting it close since you might not arrive until late of Night 1. However, if you can't eeeeek out a few extra nites ... Gab is correct about the swimming beach being three-quarters of a mile from the accomodations and altho most enjoy, I found it a bit challenging and not so fun after a few days! PIR just redid the beachfront rooms and have heard that they are dynamite! There is a sketch of the floorplan on their site if not pix yet and the beachfront rooms are a definite well worth it upgrade. To walk from the room onto the beach and into the water is heaven! The other trek is not bad from the Ocean/Garden rooms and they are near the pool and Community Center but the beachfront rooms are wonderfully luxurious and comfortable especially, I hear, with the new baths. Yes, I did find the snorkling better at Biras and the small but delightful swimming beach is wonderful! The Boston Whalers are a bonus! But at PIR they will take you in a "cart" (buggy) to White Bay (or you can hike!) and will transport you whenever where ever you need to go - to the rooms, to dinner, to Deadman's Bar and back again - deliver lunch to you on White Bay and it is a fantastic beach! You can fly into Virgin Gorda on a puddle jumper to save time getting to Biras instead of going thru Beef Island and Tortola if you have a stop over in SJU. I know those who go to Bitter End love it, the activity and options of sailing there but do NOT, if you are staying at Biras, bother to eat there! You can hike over or putt over just to look around. Now, gab, if you want to hear about Cap - just returned and still basking in the glow. What a perfect place! Can't compare since I do love PIR and Biras but Cap was unquestionably a cut above! And did you see the reduced rates at their website?
