Biobay for children?

We will be in Vieques 6/20 - 6/26 and would like to visit the Biobay. I'm wondering if anyone has taken children there? My son is 3 1/2 and I would really like to take him. Any advice for the trip would also be appreciated. We are staying at the Martineau Resort.

We did a kayak trip out into the Bio bay area which was great, but it is not for children .....you have to paddle the kayak. I personally would recommend it only for people that are able to paddle and not afraid of the dark! It is a half hour paddle trip to the bay area, plus you paddle out into the bay.

If your son is comfortable in both the dark and in the water, take him on the pontoon boat into the biobay. If you're traveling with another adult, you could even take turns staying in the boat with him while the other gets in the water. Call Island Adventures and book your tour ahead of time.

If your son likes water at all, I would imagine that once you're all out on the water and he sees the glowing that he'll be curious about it at the very least and quite likely will want to go in.

Island Adventures is what you will want, the pontoon boat. Your son will love it.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to sign us up for the pontoon boat with Island Adventures. He loves the water, "glowing bugs" and isn't afraid of the dark so we should be OK.
