Best Time to Visit Belize

The best time to visit Belize depends on your interests and what you want to experience:
  1. Dry Season (November to April): This is the most popular time to visit Belize, ideal for activities like exploring Mayan ruins, diving, snorkeling, and other outdoor adventures. The weather is warm and sunny, with lower humidity and less rain. It's also peak tourist season, so attractions and accommodations may be busier and more expensive. November offers a chance to experience Garifuna Settlement Day, a cultural celebration in the South.
  2. Wet Season (May to October): Although this period has more rainfall, it offers a lush landscape and fewer tourists, making for a more relaxed experience. Rain usually comes in short, heavy bursts, often leaving plenty of time for activities. This is the best time for bird watching and enjoying local festivals, including those held during the Easter season, which is rich in cultural and traditional events in Western Belize. July is particularly vibrant with the Benque Fiesta, the largest in the country, along with the International Music Festival and Lobster Fest.
  3. Shoulder Seasons (late November and early May): These periods provide a balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds. You might find better deals on accommodations and tours, making it a great time to visit without the peak season rush. September is also notable for its celebrations, including Independence Day and St. George's Caye Day, which are marked by parades, concerts, and cultural displays.
