We were wanting to get some suggestions for a vacation we will be looking to book for October. We are looking for an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean/Mexico or anywhere nice for that matter, where we can eat good food, drink and relax. Wanted to steer clear of family places so preferably adults only and we are looking for a deluxe resort. Have been to Galley Bay in Antigua before and loved it. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Can it be an adults-only AI, or even adults-majority, or does it have to be specifically an AI for couples? If you're a little flexible, Jumby Bay off the coast of Antigua is probably one of the most upscale AI's you'll find anywhere. while the clientele is predominantly adults, it's not strictly couples based.

You might want to look into LeSport on St. Lucia or La Source on Grenada. They're both all-adult but not all-couple AI.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it could be a adults majority. Not that we have anything against kids, but we are not really after a family scene. There will be plenty of time for that in the future!

Sounds like the Royal Hideaway in Playa Del Carmen would be perfect for you! The grounds are beautiful and the service, food, rooms are all terrific. They do not allow children under the age of 16 . This resort is an AI with everything included. They have 4 a la carte restaurants that offer a nice variety of entrees to choose from on the menus. For extra they offer private dining for 2 on the beach and have a full service spa. (We didn't have time to try it but heard from other guests there its a must do - but costs extra). Our favorite restaurant was their itailian restaurant, I highly recommend dining outside on their roof-top/terrace dining; there you can see the island of Cozumel at night. Truely romantic! My husband and I vacationed here last October for our 1 year anniversary and would go back in a heartbeat. If you have more questions let me know I would be happy to answer them. Hi Tony, checked out the website for The Caves but couldn't see any prices. Looked fabulous. What does it generally run for?

I just tried it and it appears to be down right now. If I remember correctly, 7 nights were about $4000 US not including air. Have a travel agent run the prices for you.

Funny you should ask....

Hubby and I stayed at the Caves 2 years ago and LOVED it. We got a nice 4 night package thru luxury link. Found the rate to be worth every penny (averaged out to about $350 per night, all inclusive - room, food, booze, tax, service fees, etc.) If you are planning to travel off-season, I'd recommend keeping my eye out on luxury link for auctions.

We are now looking into a return trip to the Caves for next spring. I contacted Island Outpost to get some info directly from them regarding rates for 2004. (no auctions at luxury link right now).

The rack rate quoted by them via email was $575 per night + 10% service for high season (before April 20th) and $445 + 10% per night after April 20th. That's the rate for one of their one-bedrooms (but not all their one bedrooms are created equally - and they said they won't guarantee a specific room anymore - just room "type" - so not sure what that means).

I'm now off to find anyone who may discount that rate, and we might just wait for another luxury link package, since it worked out so well for us before.

Hope this info at least gives you a ballpark figure.

The resort itself is a smaller resort and they did have a golf course. I believe nearby in Playa Del Carmen there is a public golf course. I remember driving by it and it looked well maintained. -Susan

We stayed at Sandals St Lucia Golf and Spa for our honeymoon and loved it. Many restaurants to pick from, many pools, lots of activities and it's couples only! We stayed in a Villa with concierge service which was very nice. St Lucia is a beautiful island, very lush and tropical with LOTS to do compared to many other islands.
