Best All-Inclusive In Varadero???
We're a couple of Canadians and we're looking at Cuba as a possible holiday destination mid-April.
If anyone can provide feedback on what they felt was the best all-inclusive for the buck, we'd really appreciate it.
We're looking to find a great beach, good, safe food, a clean comfortable air-conditioned room with an in-room safe and a
queen bed is preferred.
Any suggestions?

Muchas Gracias!
Kim

Kim,

We've been to Varadero a few times and really enjoyed it. Last time we stayed at the Beaches....owned by Sandals but not worth an extra couple of hundred dollars. I would suggest Superclubs Varadero (NOT Superclubs Puntarena) or Brisas.

We decided to book in Holguin, at the newest Breezes/Superclubs resort, Costa Verde.
This location came highly recommended to us by our travel agent, who has referred other clients there since it opened earlier this year. They have all returned with "Raves"!
Being brand new, they are trying to establish themselves, and we got a great price on a sell off. So far, all the feedback I have received has been very positive.
Will post a string when we get back.

Hasta lluega,

Kim

Anyone considering staying at Breezes Veradero (SuperClub, avoid it at all cost. The cost of their package isn't worth it. We're extremely disappointed in their package from quality of food to accommodations. This resort certainly has a go a long way to beat a Sandals resort. Spend your hard earned vacation dollars elsewhere in Cuba.

I know it is a little late for your trip but for anyone else looking for a place to stay, I'd recommend Iberostar Tainos in Varadero. For what we paid and what we got, we were quite impressed. It is a 4 star hotel, right next to Beaches. The rooms are large and clean with all the amenities including satellite TV. The food was good (and I hear that's a real problem with many of the hotels) and the staff was excellent. This is a very international hotel and much of the entertainment and activities were done in 4 different languages. The entertainment staff were energetic, friendly and always tried to get people to participate in the activities. We are from Vancouver and at the time we were there, we found that English was actually the least spoken language among the tourists in that hotel. On the plane ride back, I sat next to someone who stayed at Breezes Jibacoa. She didn't have a lot of nice things to say about it. About 80% of the guests were Canadian. She said that the staff was rude and didn't speak any English. Snorkelling was good there (Jibacoa) whereas there wasn't much to see at Varadero Beach. Varadero Beach is absolutely gorgeous.

I wouldn't really recommend Tainos for singles looking for a party scene. When we were there, it was mostly couples and a few families. It's perfect if you're looking for a beautiful place to r & r. My husband and I were invited to go to the disco with a couple of guys who work at the hotel. We were pretty bagged by the evening after all the sun, swimming, windsurfing, volleyball, sailing, tennis, food - you get the picture. Varadero Beach doesn't seem condusive to the party atmosphere. It is too far to walk into town and we didn't see many bars in the area. There was some cheesy entertainment at our hotel which was actually quite funny; they mostly had guests come up on stage to do embarrassing things. The activity staff during the day was on stage entertaining us at night.
Whatever you decide for an all-in, I highly recommend you do your research since that is where you'll be spending most of your time and eating most of your meals.
