Bermuda reinstates the Pink Ferry Route!
Good news for visitors and locals alike. The public reaction to the significant limitation of service on the Pink Route has caused the Transportation Minister to return weekend service to the route.
YAY. One of the highlights of a visit to Bermuda is a slow ferry ride at sunset. Thank heavens common sense prevailed.

Even better news!
Royal Gazette, 7/27/11:
A price increase on the Pink ferry route which would have seen the cost of a ticket double has been postponed, Government announced today.
A statement said: “The Department of Marine and Ports, within the Ministry of Transport, today advised the public that the proposed fare increase on the Pink Route which was scheduled to take effect on Monday, August 1, will now be postponed to a later date to be announced.
“All passes that have been sold at the current price can be used on the Pink Route until further notice.”
No reason for the decision was given.

Well, we arrived to a Bermudaful day and proceeded to the Swizzle Inn where my sister works. We had 9 beautiful days. Rain a bit at night, but that was alright. We did go to a new beach, that was empty! And it was a great spot. Had dinner out at Rustico and Wahoo, rest of the time cooked in. It went by really fast this time.

Cmfong: Just back from BDA, including a couple of nights at Fourways.
I thought they'd be starchy and formal, with many hands outstretched for the tourist dollar. Quite the contrary. The Fourways staff were charming -- not familiar, not servile, just right.
We had a well-positioned room w/ harbour view. Almost no one else visible among the bungalows.
Big bonus: the weather. Squalls before we arrived. Rain and gloom after we decamped. During our sojourn, the weather (if breezy) was warm and sunny.
