Where to Eat:

Where to Go:

Hi, I recommend '2 drinks for the price of one' happy hour at Cafe Sol in St. Lawrence Gap.

Also there is a 'Lois' who contributes to this forum who has much experience in visiting Barbados and is very, very nice in emailing her own guide and tips to those who ask. I found it invaluable for my trip there last January.

Sea-U is in a fab location though not for swimming (surfing yes), comfortably rustic. Edgewater also a fab location and much better now that there have been renovations. Daily buffet lunch, great pool.
Oistins is still great for the best fish - try the Fish Net for excellent grilled fish at unbeatable prices. Atlantis does an excellent and very popular Sunday buffet lunch great for sampling local fare. Reservations required.
Have not done the Arbib Trail. Paynes Bay is a great beach if you can get to it - access to west coast beaches can be limited if you need to park. Easy if on foot, public transport or taxi - or staying there of course.
Not too much cricket at The Oval right now - depends on the time of year.
CouCou Village at the Pelican Craft Centre is a good place for local food - best coucou on the island. Simple, tasty, cheap, weekdays only for lunch.
Champers for an excellent meal (lunch or dinner) using local seafood in a variety of ways. Best restaurant on the island in my opinion and fab location.
Things to do - newly opened George Washington House is very interesting.
See barbadosactivities.blogspot.com and barbadosrestaurants.blogspot.com for more info.

Where to Sleep. I highly recommend Southern Palms. A bit older, but clean, well-run, and truly within walking distance of Gap restaurants.

Where to Eat. There are mobile folks that come around lunch time (outside the Boug) and at night in the Gap that have great local foods and also grilled items.

Where to Go. Folkstone Marine Park for snorkeling. Lunch at the Crane and a play in the waves afterward.

Peace, Greenie
