Bahamas vs Jamaica
I am planning a destination wedding in Sep 2001 and trying to decide between the Bahamas or Jamaica - have never been to the Caribbean but as far as destination weddings in all-inclusives, this was suggested to me. Sandals has had both good and bad reviews (I'm rather surprised at the polarity) so I'd appreciate some feedback from people who had their wedding in either places and how it went and whether it's worth it. Thanks in advance.

I find getting married in the islands is a great deal. Not to mention the scenery you get for photo ops! I had my wedding/honeymoon in 1998 at Charela Inn in Negril. I am not the tipical A/I traveler and try to avoid such resorts (not that anything is wrong with them).

I would say go for it! You will have a blast! The resorts arrange averything for you. For my occasion I didn't have to do a thing, everything was pre-arranged by the resort.

We've stayed at Charela Inn and when we haven't, eaten dinner there often. If you are at all concerned about a big All-Inclusive place overwhelming your special day, I don't think you could find a more elegant, personal and charming place than Charela. (They aren't an AI, but you can get their meal plan, which more-or-less makes it All-Inclusive and since they have the best food in Negril, truly a bargain.) If you like themed buffets, multiple dining options, having lots of people around, and more "going on" then maybe the Sandals Resorts would be your best choice.
