Back from Aruba

Just arrived home from Aruba. It was great! Stayed at Hyatt and loved it. Sunset Grille at the hotel wwas also excellent El Gaucho Terrible. Best restaurarnt was Madame Janettes. Marandi was good.

However, it rained every day. We were told it has rained sicne October and will continue through Feb. Some change in weather patterns.

But still enough sun to enjoy ourselves.

Shopping is jewlery shops and souvenie shops. Not what appeals to me or my wife.

Have fun!

David - glad you had enough sun to enjoy your vacation! Kristen - we didn't like El Gaucho either. It's actually the only restaurant on the island where we didn't like our meal - and that's from three visits to Aruba. Glad you enjoyed El Gaucho, however.

Wow! I am also shocked that El Gaucho was terrible. We loved it. The food was good the night we were there. I can't believe you had so much rain. I am glad you still had a great time.

Actually, El Gaucho was bad. First we waited over 1/2 hour over our reservation time. The bread was tastless and hard, the vegetable was mushy broccolli, and the potato rather bland as well.

However the waiter also had the steaks cooked with mine rare and my wife's well down the revers of our order. We also had to have the maitre d call the waiter to our table 3 times when we needed him.

The steaks themselves were tough.
Dessert was mediocre at best.

Finally, the waiter shorted us $1.50 on the change.Probably afriad that I would not tip him. I did not.

We di not switch because they were different types of steak and we each had a favorite. For he cost, that should not have been necessary.
