BACHELORETTE PARTY - PLEASE HELP!
Hi all, i have no idea if i spelled bachelorette right, but I have bigger problems!
My best friend is getting married next April, and wants a destination bachelorette party. That's no big deal, but there's about 10 of us included and we all have different budgets!
We are coming from all over - Chicago, NY, Seattle, and LA. The destination is up in the air because we are looking for a good deal.
The bride isn't the party, wild type, so somewhere where there are nice restaurants, spas, golf - basically, somewhere warm.
The trip is going to be over Presidents Day weekend, from Feb 16/17 with a return scheduled for Monday the 20th.
I guess I'm asking if anyone knows of any deals at this time? Any nice all inclusive hotels? Anything to help is greatly appreciated. Man is it hard to make everyone happpy!

I don't know if this works for you but I saw an intriguing offer at the Westin in St. John USVI regarding a ladies' poker special where they have a deal to put you up in a luxury villa and send someone in to teach you how to play poker. Nice reason to round everyone up.

For ease of travel, I would suggest San Juan. At least some of you should be able to get there non-stop. While I don't know about golf, you should find everything else that you are looking for. Try one of the Isla Verde hotels -- the Water Club if you want a young, hip experience -- and you'll be right on the beach and close to other luxury hotels which offer the amenities you seek. A better bet, though away from the beach, might be Old San Juan. The restaurant and club scene there is very hot, and the shopping is great too. All in walking distance.
Also, though you might be tempted to choose a spot in the Bahamas for ease of travel and deals, remember that the Bahamas in February can be chilly. Puerto Rico is much more likely to have warm weather.

Sounds like something either in Southern Calfornia, Mexico or Arizona would be good.
You could try www.spafinder.com and see if anything comes up.

We went to a resort right outside of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico one year (sorry, can't remember the name) but it was absolutely lovely right on the water with a huge indoor and outdoor swimming pools, jacuzzis, spas, restaurants. It was very inexpensive during the weekday. Maybe you should look there?

Have a look at all-inclusives in the Mayan Riviera area of Mexico south of Cancun. Cancun is very Americanized now and party central, so unless you are into that I wouldn't consider it, but south of Cancun (Mayan Riviera) is more like old Mexico with some wonderful new all-inclusive resorts. I can personally recommend the Barcelo Maya resort. It has on site snorkeling on one of the best beaches in the area that is almost 2 miles long. There are two huge beautiful swimming pools and they both have swim-up bars. There is a great outdoor disco and one of the best theatres in the area. There is mini golf on site, as well as all kinds of land/water sports included as well as the equipment that goes with it. It is very good value for the dollar. Here is a person non-profit website for this resort if you want to find out more information or see some pictures of the resort. There is a sticky post at the top of the discussion forum where there are links to people's vacation pictures, so if you visit the site, make sure you check out these pictures as well as the ones on the site. Best of all no getting up early or fighting for lounge chairs or shade at this resort because there is lots at both the pools and beach.

If the Barcelo Maya isn't to your liking there are many more other wonderful all inclusives in this area.
Another island where you might want to try is Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It is very reasonable in price, but there is little to do off the resort and you must be very careful to drink and brush teeth with bottled water; whereas the newer resorts in this area of Mexico, such as the Barcelo Maya have water purification systems at their resorts and they also provide free bottled water.
Good luck in your quest.
Have a great Barchelorette party and enjoy, no matter where you go. 8-)

gee, things have really changed since i got married...too many yrs ago to mention.we usually just hung out togteher/pj party/drank/gossiped and talked about the future all night!!!we were young, who had money to travel to bachelorette destinations.?? or even thought of such(i really am showing my age). that said...maybe you should consider the expense for all, considering 1 month later you'll all be traveling for the wedding etc.!!maybe this isn't an issue for you young women but if so ,possibly a long week-end in the states.. Fl. Keyes/Key West would be an alternative..cheaper airfare and less flight time...another Fl. spot Marco Island/Marriott Resort..lovely beach/golf/spa and great restaurants in area. just a suggestion..whatever you all end of doing, just enjoy the time together !!
