My husband and I are thinking of going to the Atlantis with our 17mo. old. Are we crazy? Do they have connecting rooms? My travel agent told me to get a suite or stay at the harborside if I wanted to put my daughter's crib in a spot where she wouldn't see us in our bed? Any suggestions would be helpful.<BR>Thank you

You wouldn't actually spend a second $500 for a connecting room for the crib?! Is this about the baby not sleeping if he/she sees you? What about a king bed with baby in the middle? What about crib in the bathroom?! Only half kidding... BUT this IS crazy! Why not upgrade for the larger room of the concierge level. Perhaps you can situate the crib with a stack of suitcases blocking the view of parents! If this is about parents privacy, bring along grandma to stay in the adjoining room with baby. Don't pay for an extra room and leave it virtually empty!

This is a joke, keep it in your pants for the trip your out with your kid on vacation, or go to the bathroom, things people worry about!!!!

This is not a joke and has nothing to do with "keeping in your pants" Obviously you don't have kids. Once a baby wakes up and sees their parents in the same room, they don't go back to sleep easily. I rather not have her in bed with us because she'll expect that when she gets home. Thanks to those with real advice!

Obviously I have kids, 2 and have been traveling with them since they were 3 months, and yes the baby is in our room . at 17 months sleep patterns are already set, the baby will be so exhausted that she will sleep through anything, and if she does wake up, snuggle her in bed and she will go back to sleep, to put a baby in a different even adjoining room in a place that she has never been where she can't see her parents is not right. Its different if there was a sibling with her.

We have a 2 year old and have had the same issue. See if they have a suite or larger room that has a sitting area. That way you can put your baby to bed and not have to go to bed yourself. By the way, I have heard that the babysitters/nannies at Atlantis are amazing.

Last August we took our kids and stayed in a two bedroom suite in the Royal Towers. It was very nice! I have three kids, and we fit very well. The suite was huge. It had a living area were you could put your crib. Atlantis is a hard place to keep up with kids especially in the pool. It is so crowded, and the pool is huge. I think they have a place set aside for small kids. My kids are older, so we did the big waterslides. It is like being at a huge waterpark. My kids loved it. You will have to definitely go back when your baby is old enough to do the big slides. Have fun, but expect to pay big bucks for average food. The beach is beautiful too! I would bring a stroller because the hotel grounds are so large. It is like being at Sea World.
