Atlantis
How does Atlantis compare to Sandals Royal Bahamian. We are trying to decide between the two. Have heard that Atlantis is expensive. Don't want to get there and wish we had stayed at Atlantis. Is it worth staying there are is it something we could just go visit.

I have never been to Sandals, but I have been to Atlantis several times and love it. It takes more than just a day to "see" it. We stayed a week each time and every day made new discoveries. The place is incredible!! Food is expensive, but no more than any other first rate resort.

We stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian and it was wonderful and yes we visited Atlantis. Atlantis is a huge beautiful resort but seems to be quite expensive. The 2 resorts are totally different. We love all the Sandals we have been to. Atlantis seems to big and also it has kids, not that I dont love kids I have a few of my own but once in a while it is nice to just have adults around.

My husband and I stayed at Atlantis last year on a US Airways package and included the gourmet meal plan. Altho a tad pricey, we had a great time. There is so much to do and see there, we didn't even leave the hotel. We enjoyed the water slides, lagoon, and lazy river, and the aquarium is fantastic. The food was good and the service and staff excellent. We had a great time, and I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I are considering a Feb or March trip to the Bahamas, or more specifically Paradise Island. We stayed at Merv's Resorts years ago and we think that it is the Atlantis now. Three years ago we took our first all inclusive at Sandals St. Lucia. It was magnificent...the only down side was it was mostly young honeymooners. Although we are very social and made some friendships, we think we would enjoy it more if there was more a mix of couples. We both look and socialize with a crowd about 10 years younger than we are...so it's not a problem of young vs. old....just not all honeymoon talk! A few days ago I thought I read there was an Ocean Reef resort on Paradise Island...but can't seem to find the site. Would love to hear your opinions about Sandals/Atlantis/Ocean Reef.

I have stayed at both also. Yes, they are totally different - like being at Disney versus something laid back. Atlantis is beautiful, pricey, run like a theme park, lots of kids, beautiful rooms, etc. Loud and boisterous. Sandals is totally opposite, laid back, quiet, adult time only - a beautiful little island you take a boat too. Depends what you are looking for- if romance and adult quiet time - go to Sandals. Atlantis is over run and over priced - just like Disney.
