Aruba!!!!
My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to the Caribbean. We are strongly considering Grenada.
We would like to go all-inclusive. We would like to get opinions of the various resorts on the island. Also,
how does Grenada compare to other Caribbean islands?
Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Yvette: The topic title says "Aruba", but the contents talk about "Grenada", so I'm not sure if you are considering both or not. I have not been to Grenada, but I hear that it's pretty nice. I have been to Aruba twice and I would go back. Beautiful beaches, great food, clean water, nice hotels, lots to do and fantastic people. It is a great place. I would not, however, go "all-inclusive". It's just my personal preference, but when I go on vacation, I want to do what I want, when I want and that includes meals. I like to eat when and where I choose, sampling items and places that may vary widely. Get yourself an airfare and hotel package and if it includes breakfast, then fine, otherwise "explore" and have fun! Don't restrict yourself. Have a good trip!

Aruba has beautiful beaches-great place for snorkeling...it is very hot and can be very windy-I was in Aruba this year in Feb. It was 85-and sunny! The Wyndham hotel is very nice-right on the beach, not too far from town...I would also suggest Mama Mia Restaurant. Sits on the ocean-open very romantic and the food was great. Italian and Seafood restaurant. Lots of good memories...

Aruba is absolutely wonderful - it is one of our favorite vacation destinations! The island is beautiful and offers a multitude of activities. The people are extremely friendly, with outstanding service. English is spoken everywhere. Their theme - One happy island - and it was evident during our visit.

We have been there twice, the first time was at an all-inclusive, and the second time not all-inclusive. We really enjoyed the Sonesta Suites. The hotel is located in the downtown section by the marina (great location). Very spacious rooms, with your own little kitchen. A very nice feature - The hotel has its own private island, with free boat service from the Sonesta Hotel. Spending the day out there was fabulous, and very relaxing.

The weather there is wonderful. The island is located outside of the hurricane belt, so you don't have to worry about your vacation being "blown away". There always seems to be a nice breeze, which is a plus while enjoying outside activities.
We have rented jeeps (for exploring the rocky side of the island and a trip to Baby Beach) and mopeds (for tooling around town). Both were very enjoyable.

There is very nice shopping on the island. Another big plus is that you don't have to deal with locals hassling you to make a purchase on the beaches or at a market.

The food is excellent in most of the restaurants. There are also several casinos on the island, a movie theatre and some nice nightclubs for evening entertainment.

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to send an e-mail.
