Anyone stayed at The Pineapple?
Hi, I'm looking for information from anyone who has stayed at The Pineapple Beach Club, an Allegro Resort in Antigua which is all-inclusive. If so, could you tell me about the beach/snorkelling/food? We have stayed at Sandals before. If anyone could compare the two, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

We stayed there in November 1996 and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent with a choice of restuarants and very attentive staff backed up by the owner.Plenty of water sports available from the beach including your preferences and sailing.Gym,tennis and massage facilities also available.
Sorry but we have not been to Sandals but would not hesitate to recommend this one.

In 1996 Pineapple Beach was a privately owned resort...delightful. There have been changes since Allegro purchased the property in 1998 (?I think). The food is good, the snorkeling is ok, the beach is lovely but it is much quieter than Sandals...very difficult to compare the two properties. The Sandals resorts I have visited offered more options for dining, entertainment and were generally more upscale.

My husband and I stayed there in 1996 as well. We really enjoyed the beach. It is so private, but the snorkeling was not so great. How ever there are many boat excursions to take to snorkeling sites. We found lots to do in Antigua. We rented a jeep and explored the rain forest. Visited their market center where the cruise ships also visit. And also checked their many many beautiful beachs. Half Moon bay was spectacular ! Where ever you end up enjoy ! theresa

Hi my husband and I went to the Pineapple in 1997 for our honeymoon, and it was paridise!!!! I think it ruined me for anywhere else... the food the beach the water were all wonderful. They were for adults only at that time and owned by a different company, so I have no idea how they are now. I would not want to go on my honeymoon were children were also welcome. At the time everyone told me the Pineapple was much better than Sandels. The flowers and plants on the resort made you think you were in paridise... I can't imagine that it could really be terrible there... so good luck and have a wonderful time if you go.. ps if you do go please let me know how it is because we wanted to go back for our anniversary one year....Judy

Hi Stayed at the pineapple 2001, loved it - Not the same as Sandals but great anyway - I don't recommend the beach front rooms, on the hill is nicer with views eveyone walks past the lower rooms. Food was good It's lovely to sit down a la carte at lunch in the cool out of the shade. snorkelling and beach good too.
