Lizzy,
It's no longer the Princess. It's not called the Bahamia, and in the not too distant future will become a Holiday Inn. They will be starting $41 in renovations in a couple of months. It is in Freeport, not on the beach, has the only casino on GBI right now, and has 7-8 restaurants that are all very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the hotel infrastructure is suffering from several years of neglect. They keep it clean, but wear and tear is evident all over. We wouldn't mind staying there again, but prefer Port Lucaya and places such as The Lucayan (Reef Village), Pelican Bay, or Port Lucaya Resort and Yacht Club (in that order and the Reef Village first by a wide margin).

Danny

Dear Danny,
After graduation, my friend, her mother(who has visited the Bahamas 12 times!) and I stayed in the Princess Resort this past summer. As Lizzy stated, the resort does show a bit of wear and tear, but overall, I was impressed. The staff was very welcoming and the pool and poolside bar were awesome. If...actually when....I return to the Bahamas, I will probably stay there again.

Hi,

Not really an answer to your original post, but we went diving with Brendal's Dive Shop out of Green Turtle Cay, in the Abacos, Bahamas. It was an awesome diving experience---in part due to Brendal's fun attitude and knowledge, and I loved Green Turtle Cay in general.
We stayed at the New Plymouth Inn which was also incredibly charming and fun! I highly recommend the Bahamas Out Islands!
