Anyone ever stayed at Allegro Resort?
we are thinking about booking a trip to Aruba - and staying at the Allegro Resort. Does anyone have any first-hand experience? Looking for feedback about food, rooms, decor, is it old?, types of guests, are the facilities nice?, bathrooms, hotel personnel, etc. Any info would be helpful.

oh, great, just what this board needs--another jersey basher. i'll never figure out why, no matter the topic, some genius who thinks he/she is god's gift to travel advice has to take a shot at nj.

cyoungloser--where are you from? if you're such a sophisticated and cultured fellow that you feel you are justified in insulting us nj folks, maybe you should have sprung for a nicer place than the allegro for your honeymoon. if you actually thought that the allegro was a luxurious, high-end, romantic honeymoon spot, i think we'd all be better served to ignore any future advice from you.

to answer Nina's question, my wife and i stayed at the Radisson last month, which is right next door to the Allegro. we didn't go inside the hotel, but judging from the beach and pool area, i'd suspect the allegro is a notch below the hyatt and the radisson. and cyoung is right about the allegro being rowdier than the other hotels (at least i think that is what his point was). also by going all-inclusive you'd miss out on a lot of great restaurants in Aruba--Madame Janette, Papiamento, Avallone's, to name a few.

We stayed at the Allegro two years ago and found the accomodations to be adequate. As long as you are not expecting any "bells and whistles" you won't be disappointed. The rooms are large but dated and the food is mediocre. We have since stayed at the Hyatt and the Radisson and would definitely recommend either of them for a terrific vacation!!
