Any suggestions for first time visitor?
This will be the first time that we go to the Caribbean and I was wondering if any of you can suggest what the best island to visit is in July, as well as hotels/resorts there. We are thinking of 4 days/3 nights and we are college kids so although we want somewhere nice and clean we don't want it to cost an arm and a leg
Thanks

If you only have 3 nights you probably want to confine your choice of destinations to one of the islands you can reach non-stop from your nearest "gateway" airport. It would help if you told us where you are flying from. Also, it would help if you could give us some idea of your overall budget since statements like "costing an arm & a leg" are meaningless without knowing what they mean to you. One other point, what is your definition of "best" - best what??? Best island for beaches, best for bargain accomodations, best for lush raiforests, best for eco-tourism??????
All that said, you might want to check for package deals that include airfare and hotel to all-inclusive resorts in places like Cancun, Copzemel, the Dominican Republic or Jamaica. They are known for places that are relatively reasonably price as far as the Carribean goes. You can find package pricing information on various travel websites like Travelocity, Orbitz, etc. as well as on airline websites (American, Delta or Continental, to name a few).
Do a search on this for more information on those islands to see if any of them appeal to you.

Try visiting cheapcaribbean.com travelzoo and the usual orbitz and expedia, booking buddy etc. 4 days and three nights and dependent on where you are traveling from could be a pain in the backside. Have you given any thought to Puerto Rico or the USVI or BVIs. Flights to the other islands can take away a full day in travel time.

Try The WYNDHAM Viva Fourtuna, on Grand Bahama Island. Decent Compound with large pool area, disco, entertainment, beach bar & Grill.
It's an all inclusive, 18 to drink.
Go for the Ocean Front Rooms, there a little nicer & woth the cost. Get 2 double beds & split cost 4 ways.
Airtran flys to Freeport. From there it's a 15 min. bus ride. Good luck!
