Any recommendations for all-inclusives for honeymoon?
I'm looking for some recommended AI's in the Carribean for May '06 for our honeymoon. We don't want to spend a fortune, so something mid-range is what we are looking for. If possible, we aren't looking for a kid-heavy resort, as it will be our honeymoon, but I understand that to get the adult-only atmosphere may be out of our budget. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What is your budget? One person's "mid-range" may be quite different from another's. Also, what islands are you considering? Which is more important to you, a lush green scenic island or one with beautiful beaches (only a few have both)? Is nightlife important? Are you interested in hiking, snorkeling, diving, all of the above, none of the above? Is fine cuisine important? The fact is that there are many AI's you can consider (including non-AI hotels that offer meal plans). The more you can tell us, the better suggestions we can give you.

We are flexible with our needs for an island as long as the beaches are nice. We would like to spend less than $2K for 6 nights in May. We would like to get off the resort a little bit to see some local attractions/towns, but don't have any specific interests. We would like a variety of foods, but are not too picky. Nightlife isn't important to us, we'll probably stay near the resort late evenings.

kjenn, here's one suggestion - Nisbet Plantation Resort (http://www.nisbetplantation.com) in Nevis. This is a beautiful historic inn located on a lovely beach. The cottages are scattered across their sizable property so it is quiet and you have your privacy. In May, you can stay in one of their very nice superior rooms for six nights for about $1800. This rate includes breakfast and dinner each evening and the Nisbet is considered one of Nevis's best dining experience. On Thursday evenings, they have a wonderful beach barbecue dinner with live music (and dancing on the beach).
If you want to splurge a bit more, Nisbet offers a six night honeymoon package for, I believe, around $2400 (including taxes and service) that includes breakfast and dinner each day (one of the breakfasts is served in your room with champagne and one of the dinners is served at another of Nevis's plantation inns), a lunch at Sunshine's Bar (a Nevis institution), a half day sailing cruise, and massages for two in your room.
Nevis itself is a gorgeous island. It is very green and hilly with Mount Nevis at its center. You can hike some great trails, ride horses, snorkle (though not at Nisbet), explore Charlestown (a small but delightful town), see historical sites, visit the very pretty Botanical Gardens, or just relax at one of the nicest and most romantic inns in the Caribbean.
