Any one been to Compass Point Beach Resort?

I've had this resort bookmarked for several years and I'm thinking of booking it for this March. It gets great reviews but I'd love some insider tips. Also wondering about it's location/proximity to gambling.

Hi mandana,
We stopped there on our layover to Long Island, Bahamas both coming and going and had lunch/breakfast there. It's a very colorful, cute hotel with individual bungalows which share a main pool and restaurant. The staff was friendly. It's literally a 2-minute drive from the airport, and about a 7 minute drive to the Westin w/the casino. It's close proximity to Cable beach, but set apart on it's own so you aren't lined with hotels on either side of you. It has a small beach.

I'd recommend staying there, but one thing to note-it may be cooler than you would expect in March. We were there end of February/early March and it was rather cool. Highs in the upper 70's. Of course, it's still probably warmer than back home at that time of year but just something to keep in mind - pack a few long sleeve t-shirts.

Here's my TR from Long Island that has our pictures of Compass Point in it.

Wow, that's some trip report, thanks for the link. This is a quick 4 night trip, want something easy to get to and close to the airport. CP seems to fit the bill.

We have been going there for years. It used to be owned by Chris Blackwell from Island Records, so lots of celebrities would frequent the place. It's got a great vibe, a perfect boutique resort.

You're in luck then. It's nearly right around the corner from the airport.

We stayed there in September. The bungalows had such color and charm. Ours was a two floor, the top floor housed your bed and closets and such, with the balcony overlooking the water. Brilliant view to wake up to! And the ground level had this adorable kitchenette. We stayed for two weeks so we hired a service called FoodStore2Go to get our groceries and there they were stored in our fridge before we even arrived. Though, we did decide to dine in Compass Point's restaurant one night, and were very happy that we did. The food was fantastic! Well worth a try, especially their guava duff!

I have stayed there 3 times so I think it's great! It's not close to gambling/shopping though. It's out in a residential area of New Providence. It is close to the airport. To take a taxi to Cable Beach or town will cost about $25. We always rent a car when we are there so we can explore on our own. If you do go, you have to get a Seafront Hut. They are the best accommodations. The restaurant is pretty good -- it attracts the local population (some visitors don't like that, I don't know why).
