It all depends on what they enjoy and how much to spend. Do they like relaxing and watersports, beaches and nice restaurants... then perhaps the Cayman Islands. Check out www.caymanislands.ky

Do they want something with more nightlife, that includes the above then maybe Bahamas or St. Martin/St.Maarten

Do they want all-inclusive with a lot of night life plus great beaches.. then perhaps Sandal Montego Bay in Jamaica (there are six Sandals resorts in Jamaica - my husband and I were married at Sandal Mobay) or possibly an all-inclusive in Cancun.

Just a few ideas and lots of choices.

Good luck!
What about St. Lucia? We are going there for our honeymoon in 4 mths...(I'm 29)
It's a lush tropical island with lots of sights to see: Volcano, Rain Forest, Waterfalls, Mineral Baths...
We are staying at Sandals St Lucia Golf and Spa, the nicest of all the Sandals..it's all inclusive and has many activities right at the resort, plus there is a 'pay for one, play at two' so you can take a free shuttle to Sandals Halycon only 15 minutes away and
have access to 8 restaurants!! We are also staying at the Ladera resort for 3 nites which is up in the beautiful Piton mountains overlooking the ocean...
very private and romantic...
The travel agents say that St. Lucia is becoming one of the most popular honeymoon sights....and some call it
Little Maui...
Hope this helps!
I appreciate the suggestions so far. The couple just got engaged and is in the first days of planning. No date yet, but it looks like March. I would like to here what some otheres who have gone or are farther along in the planning process. The groom has a similar knowlege of the islands (mostly Abacos in the Bahamas) to mine so I am hoping to get ideas of places I would not have thought to suggest.

Thanks again!

If they wait until after April 15th the cost of things drops pretty significantly.

We are splitting out time in St. Barts and Anguilla. We got a room rate of $240/night (in Nov.) with a rental car for free at the Francois Planation on St. Barts. Some helpful sites may be:

http://www.news.ai/

http://www.st-barths.com/

http://www.where2stay.com/islands/islands/stbarts.html

http://www.francois-plantation.com/

http://www.capjuluca.com/

www.travel.talk.com - click under Caribtalk.

Ryan: Ladera Resort on the island of St. Lucia is unbelievable -- open air rooms overlooking the Caribbean and the mountains, private plunge pools in each room, etc. We were there last November and had a fantastic time. Check it out at www.ladera-resort.com

Ryan,

Since this is a honeymoon and they are both 25, I would suggest one of the Sandals Resorts. They are more expensive than some of the other all-inclusives, and definitely more than a condo, but this is a once in a lifetime celebration for them. I have stayed at the Sandals in Negril, Jamaica and we had a wonderful time. However that was when I was in my 20's and liked lots to do and activites. Now, I prefer a quieter resort, but I think for a honeymoon, Sandals might be a good choice. I have traveled to Antigua and St. Lucia where they also have a Sandals. All are very nice.
