Anguilla with kids
I'd appreciate some advice on a good place to stay in Anguilla. Preferably fronting on one of the good beaches, preferably kitchen facilities, and not mega-pricey.
We'll have our two boys, 9 and 14, and would have a rental car for the week. Interests include snorkling, sailing, exploring, and vegging out on the beach.
Thanks

Have you considered renting a private villa? This could come out to be much cheaper than a hotel or resort.

I list several sources for Caribbean vacation rentals on my post of travel url's but I don't recall there being a lot in Anguilla but it's worth trying as there may be some.

Frommmers.com lists the following for villa rentals in Anguilla:

1. www.travelsource.com/villa/cva

2. Villa Vacations of Anguilla, 555 Main Street, Suite 406, New York, NY 10044, phone 212/753-1133, fax 212/753-1090.

You may also want to view the "Moderately Priced" Lodgings listed at:

http://www.frommers.com/destinations/anguilla/

I'm also interested in Anguilla b/c it's supposed to be one of the safest.

Let us know what happens!

Also try "The Anguilla Guide":

http://net.ai/

By the way, this site does not state that it is the official site of the Anguilla Tourism Board. Does anyone know the url for such a site?

An excellent site is www.news.ai
Homepage is http://anguillahomepage.ai
Hotels www.turq.com/anguilla/angstay.html

Not much there for children, not much in the way of sights to see, but they have magnificent beaches. Rendezvous Bay was one of our favorites. The snorkeling, compared to all the other islands we have been to, was mediocre at best.

Shoal Bay Villas are on a nice beach and there is some snorkeling right there. Not sure about the cost this year.
