Are you saying CJ not worth the price?
Expectation is one thing,it really depends what you want, what you are looking for, and what you want to spend.
Anguilla is a spectacular island for
the enjoyment of it ALL---beaches, food, people, tranquility. No wrong choices on where you want to stay, feel comfortable in your price range. There are many wonderful places to stay--great choices. On Anguilla you should dine around the island, explore--savoir the beauty of
not having to stay in a contained resort.
Cap Juluca is far from run down. Ku is a trendy smaller new hotel mangaged by the same magagement team that opened CJ.

Some misinformation posted here by meinegan: Ku is NOT owned by Cap Juluca; Cap Juluca is NOT 'run down'; it's NOT a 'bother' to stay there, etc. I would suggest that he/she inform him/herself a little better about Anguilla and its hotel before going there.... Also take a good look at Penny's comments, she is always extremely well informed about Anguilla!

If you have researched enough to think that CJ is "rundown", and too expensive, why would you even consider staying there ?
There is so much information here about various places on Anguilla. Just do some research and find something that will please you rather than run the risk of disappointment. You've already formed an opinion about CJ, so look at other properties.
As Penny and others have wisely advised, Anguilla is "worth the bother" and there are a variety of choices to please many.
Going to Anguilla does not have to mean a stay at CJ or Cuisinart.
Expand your horizons and do some reading here.

Personally I could not be bothered moving from Cap Juluca to KU, or anywhere else for that matter. Just can't see the point in "a few days here" and a "few days there".
There is a few recent posts about KU on www.anguillaforum.com, including a letter from the Management Team.

Glad others have responded...
I personally feel blessed to have enjoyed the island 4 times, hopefully many more. We have enjoyed staying at CJ, Cusinart, La Sirena, and SBBH(a number of years ago).
As others have said, maybe some detailed research is needed for you to decide what you really want and are willing to pay for. Just my 2cents.
