AirJamaica

Getting ready to go to GLN in a month. I've heard good and bad about AirJamaica-what do you guys think? Also, any other info you'd like to share would be great! We'll be on out honeymoon, so we're all about rest and relaxation!

We flew Air Jamaica from Newark to Montego Bay four years ago and we were very happy with the experience. There were some minor delays, but the staff was very pleasant and the plane was a gorgeous new Airbus 300. We're thinking about flying Air Jamaica to Grenada next winter - looks like a beautiful island.

I have only flown air Jamaica once but only because we usually use our frequebt flyer miles from business travel for vacation. I never never heard anything bad about Air Jamaica. P.S. they are a sister company under same owner as Sandals.

We have flown Air Jamaica out of Chicago three years in a row and have had very good experiences with them.

We have flown Air Jamaica three times (last weekend most recent) and the only problem we found was they tend to overbook. Make sure you check in at least 1.5-2hrs ahead of departure otherwise you may loose your seat. If going to Jamaica - DO not prepay your departure tax. For some reason, the payment does not appear on return tickets and you'll pay twice (we did and so did some friends). Ticket agents seemed a little slow at the check in counters (Jamaica and U.S. agents). Have fun.

Hi Janet,

You are in for a treat. My husband and I were married at GLN last Sept. We had a wonderful time with both the resort and the flight.

I've flown on Air Jamaica several times. Their service is usually very good. The only complaint I would have is their check in process. If you are not flying first class, the flights are very crowded and the lines for checkin and luggage are daunting. But don't let that ruin your thoughts of the vacation ahead. It will be wonderful. Feel free to email me if you want more info. about the resort.

Enjoy!

I flew from Chicago to Montego Bay on Air Jamaica. I didn't have any problems at all. Our plane was not overbooked. In fact, the plane was not even full and we had room to move around if we felt like it.
I also flew from Montego Bay to Kingston, JM on a small Air Jamaica plane. It was very inexpensive to take the "Island Hopper".

We've flown AJ many times and have never had a problem. There 1st class is terrific. Their upgrade option is a good one too.
