Adults mostly

Please help choose a destination/hotel - looking for an easy to get to island for 2 adventurous sisters. We'd like to be able to mingle with other adults and not hear or be bothered by lots of young children. We're looking for upscale accommodations, long walk opportunities, snorkelling, scuba diving. AI not a necessity. Only have 5 days so can't waste days on traveling although we are starting from Miami. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

the caymans or turks and caicos would be possibilities. i've not been to the caymans but know they have great diving, snorkeling and long beaches. provo is a quick flt for you and has some of the best diving in the carib. the reefs are pristine and colorful, 7000' walls. there is some good snorkeling from shore as well. loads of good restaurants. some very nice hotels {many are condo style} directly on grace bay beach which is 12 miles of the softest sand around. not really a kids island except for the beaches club as there is not alot for them to do. its a small island so easy to get around. plenty of dive operators {i can recommend art pickering provo turtle divers as a very safe well run outfit with 2 very nice smaller boats}. not knowing your budget i would hesitate to suggest a particular hotel but if you look at the provo map {FAQ page} at www.aquamarinebeachhouses.com you can see whats available. the best snorkeling is in front of coral gardens. www.provo.net is a good general info source.

That's the type of vacation we prefer, so I have some recommendations.

Negril, JA
Tulum, MX
Playa del Carmen, MX
Provo, TCI
Isla Mujeres, MX

If you get a locale in mind, let me know and I'll recommend places to stay.

I think we have narrowed our choice to Provo. So now we are looking for best place to stay & also best excursions...We'd prefer upscale hotel but not where we would be the only ones not on honeymoon. At least 4 stars...3 if the place was amazing. AI not a necessity as we are capable of seeking out meals and what to do. Your help so far has been incredible and we'd appreciate name of hotels, best diving operation, restaurants and other stuff the island has to offer. Thanks for helping us plan much needed R & R

Look into the Palms or Grace Bay Club Estates(The new section) or Coral Gardens.
Dive Provo or Caicos Adventures for diving.
Excursions: www.jbtours.com
www.Silverdeep.com
www.SailProvo.com
You can snorkel off the beach in front of Coral Gardens Resort and at Smith's Reef at Turtle Tail.
There are excellent restaurants in Provo, Magnolia's, Coyoba's, Bay Bistro, Hemmingway's, and for casual Tiki hut.
Provo is only 1 hour 15 minutes from Miami on a nice big jet.
