8 hours in San Juan PR

Hello Everyone. My daughter and I are going on a cruise the end of March. We will have about 8 hours in San Juan. We are interested in seeing the Old Town, and a Castillo. We welcome any recommendations you care to share. We like to go exploring on foot and see the local architecture, historic sites, gardens, etc. My daughter is often restricted to a wheelchair that I push. That will likely prevent us from seeing some sights. Any suggestions? Thank you. JJ Travel

Before or after the cruise?

if before, go to port. It’s close to old town but don’t get far-you really don’t have much time. For a cruise you really should get there the day before. It can take an hour from airport, and a couple of hours to get on ship. Cut off is usually a couple of hours before embarking, so really you’re cutting it close.

if after just walk around a little, but either way 8 hours is not enough to venture too far. (It can take a couple of hours to get off ship)

Navigating the narrow cobblestone streets of Old San Juan might be a challenge if you are pushing a wheelchair.
