Hello everyone...hubby and I are on the final countdown to our 5 day trip to Provo. We're thrilled to be able to spend some alone time and celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We're staying at the Sands and would appreciate your thoughts on "must-do" restaurants. I'm sure we'll eat at Hemmingways since it's in our back yard. We are casual people and are looking for good food, nice area with good drinks . Thanks for your help.<BR><BR>P.S. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us...Hubby just called...he's at the urologist...he's got a kidney stone!! EECK! Hope he gets better soon or I'll miss him on the trip. (ha ha)

Beth,<BR>My recommendations are as follows: The Gecko at Ocean Club Resort, Hemingways at The Sands, The SharkBite Cafe, The Tiki Hut, & Banana Boat. These are all excellent.

we liked ripples at coral gardens for a beach lunch. Caicos cafe for a good casual dinner. The barefoot cafe for a great breakfast.

Mango Reef at The Royal West Indies wasw the best for us.

hmmmm my favorite restaurants are... Bay Bistro (Sibonne Hotel), Mango Reef (Royal West Indies) Coyaba (coral Gardens, Sharkbite (Turtle Cove Marina), What else??? oh ya... provo Golf Club!

Beth, be sure to write a trip report on The Sands for all of us. Have fun, the sand and water are the best ever!

Nancy...I am not going to worry about reservations...I think there are plenty of good places to eat and we won't be devasted if we can't get into one of our selections. Are you renting a car? I've been trying to email the Sands to see if they can handle that for us but have not had any response. See you on the beach! I'll be the one drinking the tuitty-fruitty drink with the little umbrella sticking out of it.<BR><BR>P.S. I'll be sure to write a trip report upon my return. I've learned so much from this forum and appreciate everyone's response!!

hey beth... we're not renting a car because we did when we were in St. John in January, and just never used it. (we stayed at Caneel and found the beaches there too inviting to leave). I figure we'll cab it if we need to go anywhere... You might try looking at www.provo.net for rental car companies ( i think there are links) or post the question at http://forum.provo.net (it's a really active TCI forum). we'll be at Grace Bay Club... also with fruity island drinks in hand. have a great great trip. nancy
