Whistler Weather Early December

Can anyone tell me what the weather is generally like the first week of December at Whistler/Blackcomb? Is there snow in the village by that time or is it still touch and go weather-wise?

Thanks for your help!!

You can't predict the weather in this part of the world - it may be 12 deg. Celcius and sunny with no snow and the next day freezing rain or snow in the village. So tough and go it is!

Sue's right...

However, I was there on the *second* week of December, and snow was everywhere... and there was LOTS of it. They even had to shut down the Sea-to-Sky highway south of Whistler because the snow was falling faster than they could clear it.

But, as Sue said, it's hard to tell. This year the first week of December may be warmer... and there might not be any snow in the village.

Either way, snow in the village or not, there's always snow on the mountains by December... and if you plan to ski or snowboard, that's where it counts.

Last year we had 7 feet of snow fall in the first 2 weeks of December, and that was just in the village. The mountain got 12 feet. We were supposed to get another 2 feet the following day but it rained all day instead, which wasn't a bad thing , because i don't know where we would have put it. It then got sunny and cold for the next 2 weeks. In other words , anything can happen here in December. But it is a nice time to be here, because the village is all lit up for the holidays, and the real crowds don't start arriving until about the 15th of December. Enjoy!!!
