In quebec City for 3 nights late July and 3 nights in Monteral. My husband I like 5 star hotels with good locations

rnbtr, you might get a better response if you post again with the place you are staying in.. those hotels would be, Quebec, Chateau Frontenac and in Montreal the Ritz.
Both have all the stars your husband will require and are in perfect locations.
Personally, I find them both stuffy and unimaginative and enjoy staying in smaller more exclusive boutique hotels.
Hurry and make your reservations though, July is a busy time! Have a lovely time!

Scarlett, what do you recommend in smaller boutique hotels in Montreal? We are planning for July as well but like unique kind of places. We have stayed at the Chateau Versaille and the Auberge de la Place Royale. Both were very nice but we are looking for something different this time. Price range is between $150-200 US. Thanks.

We stay at the Le Germain, I would also stay at the Sofitel in a flash!
I think the Nelligan sounds wonderful as does the St Paul but I am not sure if they are too $$ .
These might be a little too big for my taste and they are located in Old Montreal, but they look very nice.

If you like boutique hotels and want a great place in Montreal, I would suggest Ann Ma Souer Ma Souer located in the fashionable part of St. Denis Street. Just opened in 2003, it is very "European", lovely and clean. We were approximately a 20-25 minute walk to Old Montreal (if walking fast could probably do it in 15 minutes). Lots of great restaurants surrounding the hotel. The rooms were fashioned with Murphy Beds and all had their own microwave, stove, fridge, coffee maker, etc. We rented a suite (two connecting rooms) for $185/night. Had our own private balcony. They serve fresh crossaints in the morning at your door and complimentary orange juice, water and coffee available in the suite.
