Where to Shop for Wedding Dress in Montreal

Hello,

Is there a shop/department store that has a good selection of inexpensive wedding dresses in Montreal? My budget for a wedding dress is under $500.
Thanks!

You have to head for St. Hubert street, around the St. Zotique cross street; you'll find a large variety of bridal shops up and down that street and in all price ranges.

I found a bridesmaid dress for my daughter in law at Josie's , one of the many shops I went to, they had medium to lower price ranges there and nice salespeople. Pronuptia is an expensive one so avoid that one.

The variety of stores will floor you; I had not been there in 10 years and found the area just booming.

The area mitchdesj is referring to seems to be where many locals shop, lots of economy and mid priced clothing and shoe stores - no upscale botiques and very few tourists. Of course there are many big department stores downtown on St. Catherine St., and countless smaller shops on St. Denis and Mt. Royal.

zootsi, I went back to St. Hubert st and bought 2 dresses for black tie parties I had to attend recently and although I usually shop at Ogily's and Holt Renfrew, I was pleasantly surprised at what I got for the price. I even found an upscale shoe store that carries dressy shoes I have not seen elsewhere, along with the biggest assortment of diesel sportier shoes; the whole street is mind boggling, imo. You have to spend a bit of time going up and down , in and out of shops to find which ones are worth it. The tacky and the upscale cohabit side by side there.
Montreal Smoked Meat had been there for 50 years, best sandwich I've had in a while, who knew.

Rediscovering St. Hubert street has been like a blast from the past for me, and I will return in the fall for holiday party dresses.
