what should i send to my friend ??

I'm about to send a package over to a friend in Canada.
She's 21 and been away from home for about 8 months and isn't coming home anytime soon!
Any ideas on what i should send???

Obviously looking at stuff that you can't buy in Canada, or luxury sort of treats that she wouldn't buy herself...

So far, i'm sending photo's and some aussie things like:
- 'Bonds' underwear
- Cadbury Top Deck Chocettes
- Dodgy little tourist souvenir koala
- Postcard from Sydney (...as if i'm the one on holiday)

She hates vegemite.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED - (serious, funny, boring or whatever)

thanks for your time ppl

If there's a necklace with some sort of Ausstralian symbol, she could wear it and thus avoid people asking if she's English, Australian, or South African.

And audio tape that says "look left, look left" that she could put into a portable player and listen to while crossing the street would help keep her safe, instead of getting run down by cars going the wrong way.

the candy might not be a bad idea, but here's a thought. Is there some sort of genuine Australia-only wrapped candy that you could send her in fair;ly large quantity, and then she could provide a taste of Australia to people she meets.

It's cold everywhere in Canada. Can you think of some sort of sunshine to send? Even a little bag of Australian beach sand might remind her of home, and be sort of fun.

Sh'd probably like an opal or two, but that may be out fo the budget.

If she has a favorite magazine that's purely Australian, you might send a copy. There are not many Australian publications on the newsstands in Canada.

Its cold here so how about a pair of Australian sheep's wool slippers. I second the Tim Tams only because I remember an Aussie friend getting those in a package from home and sharing them around the office. How about a video tape of her favorite Australian show or even the news or perhaps a CD of new Australian bands or some magazines.

You can buy Blundstones here but they're expensive and I'm sure there are new styles out that are a few years away from making their way to Canada -- so how about a pair of those.
