Vancouver with kids: hotels & things to do

Hi, I'm going to Vancouver with my husband and two small (3 y/o and 1 y/o) children and are looking at hotels. We are currently considering the Four Seasons, Wedgewood Hotel, Sutton Place, Westin Grand and Delta Vancouver Suites. Can anyone recommend or not recommend any of these?

Also, aside from the aquarium and Granville Island, can you recommend some fun activities to do with small children?

Any help is appreciated!

All of the hotels you are considering are nice. The Wedgewood may be a little too adult oriented for them. I've heard wonderful things about the Westin Grand, although the location isn't quite as central as the others.

Other activities for children: Science world, feeding the ducks at Jericho park pond (but you can also do this at Granville Island).

Pretty fancy hotels; the kids won't care. the Four Seasons is one of the best hotels in the world, so you might as well pick it, plus there are lots of stores underneath, and the bigger kid might enjoy the flow of people and similar things.

The Bayshore is right by the water, and the bigger kid could look at boats and airplanes landing on the water.

At three, there's not much that appeals to kids much more than jumping on the hotel bed, but you should take the seabus from downtown Vancouver across to North Vancouver and back, and the 3 year old will get a kick out of that.

Visit the beaches, and the bigger one can climb on the big driftwood logs and jump off. The gondola lift up the mountain side in North Vancouver is interesting for little kids, although I wonder if 3 is too young to care.

A picnic at Granville island is always fun; buy your food at the market and eat outside, but be careful of the little ones getting away. So time your Granville Island visit for an eating time.

When I was there with a 3 year old, she most enjoyed playing on the beach.

My kids love going to Science World.
There is so much to see and do there. Also if you have a car and want to take a bit of a drive the Vacouver Zoo in Aldergrove is worth a visit depending on what time of the year you are coming. If it is cold and wet don't bother.
The Delta Pacific Hotel in Richmond
close to the airport has an indoor pool and waterslide. In the new year
it will become a Ramada Plaza I think.
